Championship’s side Blackburn Rovers are interested in Livingston striker Lydon Dykes. Dyke has registered three goals in 8 appearances for Livingston this season, he was on loan last season and managed the same amount of goals in 15 appearances.

Dykes is from Queen of the south and he spent three years at the Scottish championship before moving to the premiership with Livingston.

Blackburn Rovers have struggled for goals this season, first-team strikers Sam Gallagher and Danny Graham have managed two goals between them this season and it is evident in their position on the table, as they occupy 18th position and relegation to League one is achievable if they can’t find a solution to their strikers. Ben Brereton has struggled with fitness issue and he is yet to kick start his season with Rovers.

Blackburn Rovers have scored 20 and conceded 24 in 16 matches so far this season with a point total of 18 just four points above the relegation zone.

Head coach Tony Mowbray has identified the striking position as an area that needs to be improved and the board are working on bringing in Dykes to help their course of staying in the championship.

Dykes’s physical presence would do Rovers a lot of good as they can employ a direct approach style of play.

Blackburn won the premiership in 1994-1995 season, a title race that went to the last day, they lost the match to Liverpool but they were still good enough to edge out Manchester United as they were crowned Champions.

They have regressed since then, they never came close to winning it again.

They lost their Premier League status in 2012 after a defeat at home to Wigan Athletic confirmed they won’t be in the top flight the following season.

Things went sour for Blackburn in 2017 as they were relegated to League One, the third tier of English football.

They are back in the championship again and they are prepared to do their part towards staying up.
