Blackburn Rovers have returned to winning ways in the English Championship following the 2-0 home win over Watford on Tuesday. The Jon Dahl Tomasson-led team were able to recover from the 3-2 home loss to Bristol City with the straightforward victory over the Hornets with a goal in each half. Welsh forward Ryan Hedges gave Blackburn Rovers the lead with seven first half minutes remaining off the assist from young forward Tyrhys Dolan before the win was sealed by Scottish defender Dominic Hyam on 82 minutes off the assist from fellow defender Daniel Ayala.
With the win over Watford, Blackburn Rovers are up to third position on the English Championship table with 15 points from nine matches. They are five points adrift of league leaders Sheffield United who strengthened their trip at the top of the table with the late win over home team Swansea City earlier this week. German striker RedaKhadra came off the bench to score the winning goal for the Blades in a 1-0 away victory over Welsh team Swansea City off the assist from fellow striker Rhian Brewster who was also subbed on during the game. It took just eight minutes for Khadra to make his mark on the game after he replaced IlimanNdiaye. Eight minutes earlier, Brewster came on for Ollie McBurnie.
With the defeat to Blackburn Rovers away from home, Watford are down to seventh spot on the league table in the Championship with 13 points from nine games.
