Richie Smallwood And Danny Graham Visited Fall Boy Leon Langford’s School

Rovers duo Danny Graham and Richie Smallwood visited the school of a nine-year-old boy who fell through a factory roof to discuss the importance of safety. Leon Langford recovers in hospital after sustaining a head injury after the incident in business premises on Rockfield Street. Headteacher Paul Haythornthwaite, a Rover’s seasonal ticketholder, gave an update on the condition of Longshaw Community Junior school students, with the young who faces a long way to recovery.

A Rovers player is set to visit Leon at a hospital at a later time, with Graham and Smallwood promoting the message of security and resilience for an hour’s session. “It was a nice message and it was great to see the kids show our faces, and I hope the kids had a good day,” said Rovers’s attacker. “It was good to talk about resilience and highlight what is required to be successful. I have children back home and I know the football club is doing a lot of this sort of thing around the Blackburn area. It’s nice to come out and put some smile on the child’s faces, and they actually take things in what has been said, that’s a good day.”

Blackburn boss disappointed with results

Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray said that he is disappointed with the performance of his team despite having beaten Bolton. He said that his team did not play well and that they could have performed so much better.

He said that it was an important win for the team against a very good side but he feels that his team could have done so much better during the game.

Mowbray happy with signings

Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray is happy with the signing of Adam Armstrong on a four-year contract. He said that Armstrong was an influential player last season when he was on loan at the club and that he is happy that he could get him on a long-term contract.

Tony Mowbray said that he wants to build a team that can help Blackburn Rovers mount a push for promotion and he feels that the arrival of Adam Armstrong is a step in the right direction.

Blackburn Rovers boss excited by the World Cup

Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray has admitted that he cannot wait for the World Cup to get into gear following the opening game on Thursday. The Rovers boss is currently putting the final touches on the Rovers’ pre-season plans but amidst this, he is also looking forward to the exciting feast of football in Russia.

Speaking to reporters, he said: “Anybody who loves football is looking forward to the World Cup. It’s in Russia and that’s not an easy place to get to but I will be glued to the TV sets. I’m not sure on all the kick-off times but I’m looking forward to it and looking forward to watching it with the kids and filling in the wall charts. We do every four years as a family trying to guess who will come out on top and predicting the scores!”

Tony Mowbray: Everyone Wants To Be Involved In Promotion Push

Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray has admitted that almost everyone within the squad wants to be involved as the club head into the final stages of the League One campaign. Harry Chapman remains a long-term injury absentee for the Rovers but aside from this, the club are nearly up to full strength with the likes of Ben Gladwin and Ryan Nyambe closing in on their injury comebacks.

Speaking ahead of Thursday’s league outing versus Peterborough, Mowbray said: “Everybody wants to be involved and is anxious to play their part, win matches and help us over the line. I’ve been at clubs where at the end of the season everybody’s fit again because the summer is coming. Here, everybody has been determined to stay fit all season.We’ve done pretty well with injuries for most of the season – touch wood. Great credit to the medical and sports science departments for keeping them fit. Blackburn Rovers Manager Frustrated With Wigan Athletic Draw

Blackburn Rovers head coach Tony Mowbray has expressed his frustration at the club’s inability to pick up a victory over Wigan Athletic at Ewood Park on Sunday. The hosts took a two-nil lead inside the first 17 minutes thanks to Adam Armstrong and Elliott Bennett, but their efforts were undone during the second-half as Latics comeback ensured that they shared the spoils.

Michael Jacobs’ shot in the 63rd minute took a light deflection off Will Grigg to deceive goalkeeper David Raya for the first goal. And 10 minutes later, a Max Power free-kick from the left wing made it all the way to the far post without anyone touching the ball. As a result, the Rovers had to settle for a 2-2 draw, Mowbray was bitterly disappointed about dropping an early-lead.

Tony Mowbray Reveals Transfer Plans in January Window

Tony Mowbray has revealed that he is looking to strengthen the Blackburn squad by bringing in a couple of permanent signings in this new transfer window. Blackburn are in with a shout to get promoted back into the Championship, but the former West Brom manager recognises the need to strengthen the squad in order to have a chance of promotion. The club are a couple of points behind the likes of Wigan Athletic and Shrewsbury Town. While it is possible for Blackburn to catch both of these clubs, Tony Mowbray has seen his team go through a difficult patch of results over the last few games.

A string of matches in December and January has tested Blackburn’s squad to the limit. The team is in need of a break, and it has come in the form of an early FA Cup exit. This should help Blackburn in the short term, but Tony Mowbray says that the team needs to bring in a couple of players on a permanent basis if the club are to prepare for the second half of the campaign – and possibly for the next season. Blackburn were once a regular Premier League outfit, but the team has now fallen into the third division of English football. After spending five struggling years in the Championship, Blackburn finished in the 22nd place last season and were demoted to the League One.

Tony Mowbray delighted by win at Scunthorpe United

Blackburn Rovers boss Tony Mowbray has revealed his delight after the Rovers clinched all three points at Glanford Park.


As a result, Scunthorpe United lost their unbeaten start to the season while the Rovers celebrated four successive league wins for the first time in a decade.

Speaking after the game, Mowbray said: “We are delighted with the points. It was a tough game against a good side, they caused a few problems in the first-half, but we had a few chances.”

The Iron had caused several problems to the Blackburn defence over the course of the game, but the decisive goal went in the Rovers’ favour after Elliott Bennett’s cross found Leeds United loanee Marcus Antonsson, who bagged the winner. Despite the victory, Mowbray felt that Scunthorpe had dominated the proceedings, and they will pose a significant threat to the opposite sides through the campaign. Burnley boss feared for his players due to fan trouble at Blackburn Rovers

Burnley boss Sead Dyche has admitted that he was concerned over his player’s safety after two Blackburn Rovers’ fans confronted them while celebrating the opening goal of the Carabao Cup game last night.


Burnley clinched a 2-0 victory over the Rovers in the Lancashire derby, but the game was marred by incidents from both set of supporters.

Dyche had watched the incident unveil in front of him as two fans charged towards his players following the first goal. Clarets skipper James Tarkowski was pushed in the chest by one supporter whilst the other appeared to grab Ashley Westwood by the throat before a melee broke up from both set of supporters.

Speaking after the world, Dyche insisted that the stewardship was amateurish whilst questioning how the fans were allowed to reach his players without any intervention, he said: “There used to be a time, when I was playing, that if people got onto a football pitch it was a bit of a joke, a little bit silly. But there are now different things going on in the world, when people get onto a football pitch they need to be stopped.
