OLSSON WILL COMMIT

The Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has said that he expects the Swedish defender Martin Olsson to be fully committed with the club and their aspirations to return to the Premier league. The Swedish defender Martin Olsson immediately handed a transfer request following the relegation of the club from the top flight of English football. However, no club has been able to secure the services of the left back, who was one of the impressive players for the club in an otherwise poor season. A number of clubs including the European champions Chelsea were interested in securing his signature.

However, the player was unable to complete a move away from the club due to a groin injury, which has also forced him to miss the start of the new Championship season. Despite not being featured for the club so far, the manager Steve Kean expects the player to give his full commitment as long as he is a Blackburn player. The club has been one of the top spending clubs in the championship this season, as they target a quick return to the Premier league. The player is expected to cost around £ 10 million for the interested parties.

“We were getting mixed signals. I spoke to Martin many times and he said he wanted to get back in the team, then you have agents or agents on behalf of other agents saying his agent had told them he was desperate to get away. You can only speak with the player and when they tell you they want to get their head down and stay at the club, then that is good news,” said Kean regarding the future of one of his best players. Blackburn have made a good start to the new season and are currently second in the table.

WORRIED OVER FITNESS

The Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has said that he is extremely worried about the fitness of the striker Colin Kazim-Richards. The 25-year-old was a summer signing from Turkey and he has proven to be a major hit with the club. He has scored two goals in as many matches for the club in the Championship. He recently secured the winner against Hull city in the 1-0 victory. However, he had to be taken off in the final few minutes of the match after suffering an injury. It appeared to be serious and as a result of it, the manager Steve Kean is extremely worried about the fitness of striker.

The Blackburn manager Steve Kean is under enormous pressure to deliver the results at Ewood Park after being largely responsible for the club’s relegation from the Premier league last season. He has been given significant transfer funds to improve the squad in the summer. However, he failed to impress the Blackburn fans in the opening match of the Championship season against Ipswich town – a match in which the club could only get a 1-1 draw. The 1-0 win over, though, could not have come at a much better time for the manager, but he is worried about the fitness of the star striker Colin Kazim-Richards.

“He felt a little strain just on the outside of his knee, so hopefully that won’t be a bad one because the last thing we would want is another injury to the strikers. What I’ve said, and I think it’s very important, is we’re trying to be respectful to clubs that own the players that we’re bidding for. If it’s a ‘no, and please don’t bid again and go away’ then I think we’ll try somewhere else because we’re trying to improve the squad right up until the deadline,” said Steve Kean.

BLACKBURN APPOINT SINGH

Blackburn Rovers recently appointed Malaysian defender Shebby Singh as their global advisor. The club are in turmoil at the moment and the appointment of an unknown defender as the global advisor has only infuriated the fans even more. They have been expecting the sacking of manager Steve Kean for quite some time now. The former assistant manager has travelled to India in to hold talks with the owners regarding his future. However, he seems that he has come unscathed from the problems after it was revealed by Shebby Singh will be continuing as the manager next season in the Championship.

It has also been revealed that Shebby Singh will be advising the owners on football matters, while he will also assist to the club in bringing in new players. It is previously thought that the owners were getting advice from manager Steve Kean. Even after suffering a number of defeats in the second half of the season, his position seemed extremely comfortable at the club. It has consequently led to the relegation of the club from the Premier league after more than a decade. It remains to be seen if the club will be able to stay afloat in the Championship.

“Everyone starts with a clean slate. At this moment it is going to be difficult for the fans to think nothing has changed but we would like to re-group and try to take this team forward. I would say we have already discussed terms with a very, very important player, in terms of the characteristics that he can bring. We are also in talks with a couple of other players, in terms of striking positions. As far as I am concerned and as far as I know funds will available to buy the right sort of characteristics that this team needs,” said Shebby Singh.

BLACKBURN ARE STRUGGLING

An incredible golden period in Blackburn Rovers’ wonderful history is undergoing a major crisis due to inexpert ownership, awful managerial decisions and a lack of consistent performance.

All Rovers fans possibly dreaded the ‘Premier League adventure’ would end some day. The continuously increasing monetary odds has badly affected but none could have ever thought the ridiculous nature in which an affluent running run club has crashed for about the last eighteen months.

Most Rovers fans will wish that they never ever hear of Venky’s. This entire fault is owner’s decision. They selected and had faith upon Steve Kean, thus allowing the club to spend around 20 million pounds on more often than not duff signings along with allowed years of knowledge and skill of the club to go on waste.

There is a faint ray of hope after Bolton’s heavy crush to Spurs which will at least give Rovers the scope to fight. Although the possibilities are less with just 2 games left and 3 points adrift. There is nothing working in favor of Blackburn Rovers that here are lots to complain, very less to appreciate.

But the preparation is in full swing for what might possibly be the last Premier League match at Ewood Park. Monday night’s trip of Wigan, is an apt to rejoice an amazing journey of the club for the last two decades.

For a town with a population of nearly 100,000, the awesome footballing accomplishments have been in one word miraculous and outshined everything which any other Premier League club could not have handled over a continual period.

Rover’s fans have been on a journey which no town club can ever feel again. To spend merely 2 seasons out of the Premier League and 9th position in the league’s all-time rankings is an achievement which leaves the club as the excellent achievers for over the past twenty years.

KEAN: BELIEVE

Blackburn manager Steve Kean has said that the club and their players should start to believe themselves following the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa during the weekend. Blackburn Rovers are in a precarious position in the table, just a place above the relegation zone. There are currently floating above the relegation zone only based on goal difference and there is a possibility that they may once again slip back into the bottom three. That has been a lot of animosity towards Steve Kean ever since he took over from Sam Allardyce. A lot of the animosity was justified during the earlier part of the campaign, but despite selling a lot of high-profile players, Steve Kean has still managed to get Blackburn above the relegation zone.

Speaking after the match against Aston Villa, the manager has said that it is time for the Blackburn players and coaching staff to deliver the results for the fans. There are only a few matches left in the season, while it will be even more tough for Blackburn since there are only a few home games left for them. Steve Kean has said that Blackburn Rovers should be targeting before matches in order to get away from the relegation zone. They did exactly that during the weekend where they managed to come back from behind to draw with Aston Villa.

“From our point of view, Chris never withdrew his transfer request. He wanted to go, he made that quite public. On a positive side, now we know everyone we have in the dressing room wants to be here. We will all be pulling together. We wish Chris all the best, he was very vocal in public about wanting to leave and he’s got his wish,” Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean said after the departure of Christopher Samba during the weekend.

DUNN PLEASED WITH PERFORMANCE

Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Dunn has said that the club’s performance against Everton in the recent Barclays Premier league match was their best ever in this season.

Blackburn have been struggling for form and also have been unlucky with a lot of injuries to key players. There have been a lot of calls for Steve Kean to be sacked from his position, while fans are also unhappy with new owners Venky’s from India. However, Blackburn have been experiencing a turn in their fortunes since the turn of the year and have already won against Manchester United and taken a point off Everton.

Even though the 3-2 win over Manchester United was by far the most shocking result of the season, Blackburn midfielder David Dunn has said that the 1-1 draw with Everton was easily the best performance of the team this season. He also said that he hopes that the team maintains this kind of performance in the future games as well, which will be more than enough to avoid relegation. As a result of this point, Blackburn Rovers move clear off the bottom of the table and edge closer towards the ultimate safety. There are currently one point off 17th placed Bolton Wanderers, who also managed to get a surprising victory over Liverpool during the weekend.

“Some of the performances recently have been really good. The manager, the players, the owners and even the fans have had their share of criticism, but it’s important we all stay strong and stick together. Blackburn is renowned for being a family club and we need to keep hold of that,” David Dunn said after the match. Despite missing key players like Christopher Samba, Blackburn managed to come out of the tough fixture against Everton with a point.

Blackburn Set to Sell?

Luck, it seems, is definitely not on the side of Blackburn Rovers. Not only are they struggling at the wrong end of the English Premier League but they are also failing in their attempts to hold on to two of their star players, attacking player Junior Hoilett and defender Christopher Samba.

Hoilett is one of the most exciting youngsters currently playing in the Premiership after he burst onto the scene last season with some stellar performances for the side. Now, reports have emerged that the young Canadian player has declined to put pen to paper on a new long term deal that will keep him at Ewood Park for the next five years.

Christopher Samba was already a lost case back during the summer transfer window when many of the big guns in the English game including Arsenal and Liverpool swooped for the defender but somehow, their moves did not materialize but it seems that Samba is almost certain to leave Blackburn Rovers once the winter transfer market opens on the 1st of January. His likely destination might as well be the Emirates Stadium and Arsenal with Arsene Wenger willing to pay almost £15 million for him.

However, the loss of Hoilett will be the one that will hurt Rovers the most as he is in the last season of his current contract and it leaves him the opportunity to enter into talks with potential suitors and sign a pre-contract in January before leaving in August, with Rovers getting minimum compensation for a player they rate over £ 20 million. With the likes of Michel Salgado, Ryan Nelsen all struggling for form and Steve Kean desperately failing in his attempts to keep the dressing room united and the board on his side, it seems that this will be a very difficult season for Blackburn Rovers.
