MOWBRAY REMAINS HOPEFUL

Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray is keeping his hopes up despite the recent poor performances of the team.


There are five league games left in the English Championship and with Rovers being four points from safety, the future seems clear enough.

The defeat to Burnley at home stole the team‘s confidence and left the fans distraught. It is the third successive loss for the struggling side. Brighton & Hove Albion defeated them by a lone goal while Reading thrashed them 3-1. The 2-0 home loss to Barnsley leaves them in real threat of moving to the third tier of the English Football League.

Since Mowbray took over, the team has won just 11 points out of 30. He was charged with reviving the team but he has supervised losses and draws since March 4.

COYLE – AMBROSE DESPERATE TO JOIN ROVERS

Owen Coyle has revealed that Nigerian Efe Ambrose is desperate to join Blackburn Rovers but that a work permit issue has stopped him from doing so.


Ambrose has been in training with his prospective club after he agreed to join on the winter deadline day. He agreed to move on a loan deal but it still awaiting a decision on his work permit application.

The 28-year old defender wants to move away from Celtic Park but the permit is not close to arriving, according to comments from Coyle. Coyle added that when the permit goes through and he impresses at Lancashire, a permanent move in the summer is a possibility.

“The group really like him, he doesn’t hold anything back in terms of the way he trains, and he shows that he wants to be part of it. The lad is desperate to be at Blackburn Rovers and kick start his career.

Owen Coyle Wants New Players in Order to Help Fight off Relegation

Blackburn manager Owen Coyle is under no illusion that the club is under desperate need of new faces in the squad in order to improve results.


The club are in the relegation zone even after bringing in the former Burnley boss in the summer. Even though the club has brought in names like Danny Graham and Anthony Stokes this season, they are yet to spend any money on transfers. Lack of interest from owners, Venky’s Group, has led to the manager biding his time with free transfers and loan deal. However, it has not helped the club in any regard.

A 1-1 draw with Birmingham City meant that the club stayed in the relegation zone. After going winless since November, Blackburn finally managed to get some positivity under the build after a 1-0 surprise win over highflying Newcastle United at home. Yet, they have not been able to build on this success after a loss against Ipswich Town and this latest draw against Birmingham. Blackburn Supporters ahead with New Protesting Methods

Blackburn Supporters have come up with a new method of protest and they are going to use that method in the coming Brentford match.


They will not boycott particular portions of the match which they had done the previous time they had protested, but, instead they will keep red cards in their hands during the whole match.

Few of the supporters were not in favour of that boycott method as they thought it was going to unsettle the atmosphere inside the stadium and that’s why they had not participated in it.

Mr Steve Mack who has supported Blackburn all his life and who was presiding over that meet in which red card method was discussed and finalized was quoted as saying, “Some random guy threw this idea to us and everyone felt that it was pretty good.”

“There was not unanimity among us regarding the 1857 method and many supporters were in for it, but, nobody seems to have any problem with this method. So, we are hoping this protest to be stronger.”

When asked if the protest will be solely against hierarchy or it’s against the coach as well whom also people are quite angry with and are not lending their support to as he was once the coach of an enemy club, Mack said, “No, not against the coach, let me be clear with you. We are raising our voice against those who are at the top and nobody else at the moment because that’s where things are wrong, at the top.”

“In the last 12 to 18 months, every efficient individual who was there in the board has been removed and those who have been slotted in are the yes-men of the owners and that’s awful. We are fed up of all this.”

Owen Coyle puts the blame on himself instead of his players

Blackburn Rovers are currently pitted in the bottom spots of the English League Championship which is significantly worse than how they had finished in the previous 2015-2016 season where they secured the 15th position; there is plenty of time for the team of Owen Coyle to start collecting points at a regular basis and initiate their process of climbing spots in the 2nd tier of the English League.


The head coach of Blackburn Rovers, Owen Coyle has recently talked about the current situation of his team and stated that this negative start of the season that has seen them losing more games than actually winning is due to his self and not because of his actual squad. WES BROWN BACK TO BLACKBURN ROVERS

Former Three Lions defender Wes Brown is set to join Blackburn Rovers, according to reports.


The Englishman’s talks with the club were confirmed by Coach Owen Coyle. Coyle told BBC Radio: “As soon as I get the green light from the owners that I can get that over the mine, I’ll pursue it vigorously. The proposal has been sent, it’s just to come back with a yes or no. We kick on from there.”

Wes Brown, 36, started his career at Manchester united. He started with the youth setup before breaking into the senior team in the 1996/97 season. He moved away to Sunderland in 2011 but remains unattached this season after his exit from the Premier League. Owen Coyle Says Blackburn Deserved to Win against Burton Albion

Owen Coyle says that Blackburn deserved more than just a point from the game against Burton Albion.


The two teams were involved in a 2-2 draw which did not improve the fortunes of the home team. After three successive defeats at the start of the campaign, Blackburn are under serious pressure to get a quick win under their belts. They came closest to do so after getting a 2-1 advantage with 30 minutes left of the game against Burton Albion. However, three points were not to come after the away team secured a late equaliser with two minutes left.

This was an extremely disappointing result for Blackburn and Coyle felt that his team decided to take all three points. This game was the few positives for the team that has suffered from numerous injuries. Even though they allowed the away team to have slightly more possession, Blackburn created more opportunities. NEWCASTLE UNITED GET GRANT HANLEY FROM ROVERS

English Championship side Newcastle United have confirmed the signature of the former skipper of Blackburn Rovers ahead of the new season.


United signed the defender Hanley for a five year deal for an undisclosed transfer fee. Hanley had been with Rovers since he was 16 years but decided it was time to move elsewhere. The player now aged 24 made his debut for Blackburn Rovers when he was 18 and has gone to score nine goals in 201 games.

On the international scene, he has 23 caps to his belt since getting his debut against Wales back in 2011. On the deal, coach Rafa Benitez said: “I am very pleased to bring rant Hanley to our project to add his hard work and potential to our squad. “Grant is a young player with a lot of ambition to improve and keep growing with us.”

The player is a Sot International player, but he would definitely help to strengthen the defense of the team. With Fabricio having exited from the team, there is a position that needs to be filled.

While there are players from the lower ranks who can act as a substitute, getting fresh blood infused in the ranks would help to build the competition within the ranks and better the performance of the team in general. Newcastle launched a query for the player who is 24 years of age. The player is from Dumfries and is 6ft 3 in. The club feels that the player is open to the idea of moving to St James Park to stay. If the deal is pulled off the club would have another leader in their ranks as Hanley has been a skipper with Blackburn and has much experience in his games.

Former Bolton manager Owen Coyle his return to English football after joining Blackburn Rovers on a two-year contract.


He was last seen in English football with Wigan Athletic in 2014. In the last two years, he has been managing MLS outfit Houston Dynamo. It has helped him stay away from the limelight especially after poor spells with Bolton and Wigan. Fans remained divided about his opinion, but Coyle says that he is extremely positive about being successful at Ewood Park. That has been a lot of discontent amongst fans over the regime of the Indian owners.

Constant managerial changes coupled with less transfer money available for the manager has resulted in the club only managing mid-table finishers in the last few seasons. The possibility of Blackburn returning to the Premier League seems like a distant dream at the moment.Coyle, though, reiterated his belief that the club will be able to achieve promotion next season. The belief will be translated to fans only if the club spend big in this upcoming transfer window.Coyle says that even the appointment of a top manager like José Mourinho will not have pacified the supporters at this moment.
